President von der Leyen delived the State of the Union (SOTEU)- competitiveness in focus

On 10 September 2025, he President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen delivered her State of the Union address. The central theme was Europe’s competitiveness, the future of the Single Market, and the EU’s strategic resilience.
 
The Commission President announced a set of new instruments:
Single Market Roadmap to 2028 – a pathway to deeper economic integration,
Industrial Accelerator Act – strengthening European industry in global competition,
Omnibus packages – simplifying and consolidating regulations for businesses,
28th Regime and European Innovation Act – legal frameworks to foster innovation and scaling of companies,
European Grids Package – expansion and better integration of energy infrastructure,
EU Cloud and AI Development Act – securing leadership in critical future technologies.
 
Von der Leyen not only reviewed past actions but also outlined a vision and plans that are meant to shape the Union’s development in the years ahead.
