About a Project

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project – CEWSE II (Centre of Excellence at Warsaw School of Economics on “Global Public Goods Management and Sustainable Growth in the Policy and Practice of the EU”), implemented by the Jean Monnet Chair in European Union at the Warsaw School of Economics, has been co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program. This initiative is conducted from 2024 to 2027 and continues the original CEWSE project, which was co-funded by the EU from 2016 to 2019.

Project objectives: 

The main objective of the CEWSE II project is to foster collaboration between researchers working on issues of European integration, sustainable development and global public goods, and to promote research and knowledge on current and future challenges of the European Union.  The project focuses on the policy and practice of managing global public goods in the EU, particularly in the areas of: 

  1. Resilience of the EU in the context of multinational security

  2. Financial Stability of the EU

  3. EU Trade as a tool for Sustainable Development

  4. Green Energy and Combating Climate Change 

  5. Digital Transformation Processes in Society and the Economy in the EU

Through the above activities, CEWSE II aims to enhance knowledge and develop practices in the area of global public goods governance and sustainable development, while strengthening academic and research competences in the field of European Union policies.

Team:

The project’s Academic Coordinator is Professor Ewa Latoszek, a member of the European Jean Monnet Professors group. The Project Board also includes Dr. Eng. Ewa Osuch-Rak, Dr. Anna Masłoń-Oracz, and Dr. Anna Wójtowicz. The project is implemented by an interdisciplinary team, including faculty members from the CEWSE II team: Dr. Eng. Ewa Osuch-Rak, Dr. Anna Wójtowicz, Dr. Michał Jasiński, and Dr. Agnieszka Kłos as well as representatives from other academic departments of SGH, including Dr. Anna Masłoń-Oracz and Dr. Marta Pachocka, and partner institutions, such as Dr. Aleksandra Borowicz from the University of Gdańsk.

 

Key project activities:

  • organising 6 open expert seminars and an international scientific conference

  • preparing the monography on Global Public Goods Management and Sustainable Growth in the Policy and Practice of the EU 

  • preparing scientific publications and an expert report

  • conducting classes on the subject of the project in the academic environment (lectures for students), as well as outside it “„Academy of Young Europeans – resilient, digital and modern society””
