🌍 Strengthening Transatlantic Trade Cooperation
The European Commission has welcomed the political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on implementing key elements of the EU–US trade deal announced in 2025.
The agreement will:
✅ Eliminate tariffs on all US industrial goods entering the EU
✅ Improve market access for selected US agricultural and seafood products
✅ Maintain safeguards to protect EU industries from market disruptions
✅ Reinforce stable, fair, and predictable transatlantic trade relations
This marks another important step in strengthening one of the world’s most significant economic partnerships. Today, EU–US trade in goods and services exceeds €1.7 trillion annually, with more than €4.9 billion crossing the Atlantic every single day.
Beyond tariff reductions, the partnership also opens the door for deeper cooperation in:
🔹 Economic security
🔹 Critical minerals
🔹 Reducing non-tariff barriers
🔹 Addressing global steel overcapacity
The agreement reflects a broader commitment to fostering resilient supply chains, supporting businesses and consumers, and driving long-term economic growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
A significant milestone for international trade and economic cooperation.
